Wedmore First School launches ‘Save our Pool’ Crowdfunding initiative!
Representatives from the Wedmore First School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) have launched a fund raising initiative in an attempt to commission urgently needed repairs to the Wedmore community swimming pool located on the school grounds.
The pool is desperately in need of quite costly maintenance work before it can re-open this Summer with specialists advising that it cannot open until the work has been carried out.
The pool, which is a valued community asset, provides facilities for the school children from reception to year 4 to learn to swim, and socialise.
Additionally it is open throughout the Summer holidays for locals to utilise for a small entrance fee, providing a valuable facility for those who may not otherwise be able to access a pool.
It is bookable for children’s parties and also utilised by the schools ‘out of school holiday club’.
A crowd funding page for any donations to the ‘Save our Pool’ fund has been set up and can be accessed via the below web link.
If you would like to donate, this can be done HERE
Or alternatively any donations can be provided via a cheque payable to ‘Wedmore First School PTA’ sent to the first school, Blackford Road, Wedmore BS28 4BS, please indicate the donation is for the ‘Save our Pool’ fund.
