The Strawberry Line is essentially an 11 mile ‘mostly’ traffic free path which runs from Shepton Mallet to Yatton, via Wells and Cheddar.

Much of the Strawberry Line is made up of the old Cheddar Valley Railway line which ran from Yatton railway station through to Cheddar and Wells which later became known as The Strawberry Line because of the volume of locally grown strawberries that it carried to the markets in London.

The Strawberry Line is a great option for a walk or a cycle with your family, but please be aware that there are sections that run along roads and there are points where you have to cross busy roads but there are crossing provisions to make this safer.
